In addition to Hell Creek on Heels and Hell Creek on Wheels, Wild Within You offers other fitness adventures to cater to your unique preferences. This year, Wild Within You will offer the following adventures in Kansas:
Paddle, hike, bike your way around the nooks and crannies of HorseThief Reservoir! This event is geared towards the newbie adventure racer. Checkpoint locations will be pre-plotted for you on the official adventure map. Then, it is up to you and your team to find the points in the most efficient way! Remember, finding ALL the checkpoints are more crucial to your team finish than how FAST you finish! Be prepared to hike/run thru the fields, grasslands, and pastures; paddle thru the waters, and possibly even bike the roads of the park!

Additional Adventure Race Info: Winds speeds of 15 to 20 mph or more will result in the PADDLE portion of the race being canceled. The rest of the event will continue on! We are most concerned for your safety in having a fun and safe adventure. Run down and back HorseThief Reservoir's dam. Wide open, flat, and fast! The dam is 7200 feet long, one direction. Total distance of the Dam Near 5k will be approximately 2.7 miles. Running surface is hard pack dirt. Family friendly! Kids in strollers, the young and the young at heart are all invited!

The Hell Creek Duathlon is a mix of trail running and mountain bike riding, taking place at the Switchgrass Trail at Wilson State Park.

Due to the cost of organizing a successful event, race fees are non-refundable. There is always a chance that weather may force the race director to limit, adjust or cancel an event. It's an "Almost Olympic" distance road triathlon at Wilson State Park in Kansas! Splash into Wilson Lake for a 500 meter swim in the clearest lake waters in Kansas! Dash out of the water, run up the sand beach to your bicycle and roll out for the 32 mile ride in the rolling hills towards Sylvan Grove, KS. The bicycle leg will be an out and back format. Once back from the bicycle leg, tie up the running shoes and speed out for an out and back 10 run thru the rolling hills park roads!

This triathlon is not USAT sanctioned. One day and annual licenses are not required. Multiple aid stations are available throughout the run and bicycle course. Distances between aid station and other crucial information is emailed to pre-registered participants. Water is available at the aid stations. Assorted energy food items are also available. Energy food items may include fig newtons, hammer gels, clif shots, chewy granola bars, bananas, and random homemade treats. Restrooms are located within 400 yards of start/finish/transition area. Please Park in DESIGNATED AREAS ONLY! No parking will be allowed in the transition area. You may drop your gear off at the transition, and then you must move your vehicle to a designated parking area. The main parking will be at the Switchgrass Trailhead parking lot. Switchgrass Trailhead is .25 miles away. It will be a great little warm up sprint for you! This is a fun event! I do not place emphasis on winning first, second, or third places. I want to encourage all people to attend Wild Within You events! Novice and experts alike, come on out and challenge yourself! Electronic timing is not guaranteed at this event. Volunteers make this event possible.
